Abel Nuño

Our deepest desire is to be used by God so that others may follow in the footsteps of Christ as His disciples, and that they may be fully equipped to assume the responsibilities God has given them in the place where He has placed them.

At ECM we believe that Europe needs the Gospel. Although it has been the center of Christianity for centuries, today Europe is a continent where Christianity is on a declining trend. Many years of secularism, immigration and a rising standard of living have replaced faith in Jesus with a variety of beliefs and lifestyles. Europe has become a complex, multicultural and religious continent, full of change.

Abel and his wife Rafi met at the Evangelical Seminary (IBSTE) in Castelldefels (Barcelona). Both were very clear about the Lord's call on them to preach the Gospel in pioneering work, so when they finished their theological training they moved to Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo to join the ECM team there. After eight years of service, and leaving the small congregation in charge of other companions, they moved to Cabra, where they took charge of a small congregation of 6 members that, by the grace of the Lord, grew to 35 in 2012. In that same year, due to the urgent need to care for Rafi's mother, they moved to Alcalá la Real, and in 2021, the vulnerable situation of Abel's parents finally made them move to Tarragona, where they are currently serving.

They have two children, Estefania and Samuel, who have long since "flown the nest", and three grandchildren.

Abel is a professor of Christian Ethics at the Faculty of Theology in La Carlota (Córdoba), and serves as Director of ECM Iberoamerica.

Both are grateful to the Lord for the privilege of serving Him in their work and experiencing at all times His goodness, grace, mercy and love in multiple ways. "How great is thy goodness, which thou hast kept for them that fear thee, which thou hast wrought for them that take refuge in thee before the sons of men!" (Psalm 31:19).
