Michael Carpenter

Michael Carpenter serves in Roquetas de Mar, Spain to care for, disciple, encourage, and spur on the church within this international agricultural area. A third of the city’s population are immigrants, working within the agricultural sector, and massive greenhouses, known as “invernaderos”. Michael’s heart is for the sojourner, the ostracized, those on the periphery, and those living without hope in Christ.

Michael was fortunate to have had people pour into him when he was far from Jesus. As a believer, with the inheritance of the promise of being able to be a part of "being blessed to be a blessing to the nations", while also knowing that there are people groups without access to Jesus, he desires to make his life count in things of eternal significance and value. By laying his "yes, on the table”, he desires, until Jesus calls him home, or returns, to share of the hope that he has in Him, with those within the Lord’s harvest field.

Michael embraces a lifestyle of discipleship embodied in the phrase "LOVE is spelled TIME". In his experiences, he has seen that so much of nurturing someone in the Lord requires being present, listening, and making time. Frequent in-person interactions, abiding in the Word, answering questions, practicing spiritual disciplines, and praying within the Body, foster a lifestyle on-mission with Jesus, rooted in discipleship, and in evangelism. It has also been significant for him to model abiding and sharing rhythms, and bringing those growing in Christ into those rhythms, as they grow in Him, and in their respective leadership. The Lord has given Michael a gift in exhortation, and he tries to care for, and encourage, anyone that the Lord brings into his path.
